The Mecklenburg Bass Club was established in the early 1960’s to bring together like minded individuals for comradery, fellowship, and friendly competition focused around a passion for largemouth bass fishing. Founded in the early 1960’s, the club is without a doubt one of the oldest bass clubs in North Carolina if not the country. After more than 50 years, the club is still focused on its core founding principles: club members are expected to maintain a positive attitude, minimum monthly meeting attendance and tournament participation, and a commitment to the furtherance of the sport of bass fishing through personal improvement, conservation, and both professionalism and dedication to club contributions.

Members of all skill levels, boaters and non-boaters alike, are welcomed in our club with the most important single consideration being a positive attitude, cooperation, and a willingness to learn and share bass fishing knowledge. Potential members must spend time fishing with multiple club members prior to eligibility for a club vote to obtain membership.

We have tournaments every month and also hosts exciting travel tournaments twice a year to alluring potential bass destinations like Santee Cooper, Buggs Island, Guntersville, or Lake Murray. We meet at 4PM on the 1st Sunday of each month for club business, and to pass out monthly tournament awards/share the month’s fishing knowledge and successes, at the Bob Evans restaurant at 9253 Statesville Rd., Charlotte, NC 28269, just off I-77 at exit 18. The club also hosts an annual banquet where annual awards are given each year, such as a Lunker of the Year Award, Angler of the Year Award, Non Boater Angler of the Year Award, and Most Improved Fisherman Award, just to name a few.
